A Hero for the 21st Century: Part Two

Wanderlust

I have never heard of Baroness before, I have no idea who the director of the above video is. I’m posting it here because it stars two friends of mine: Keith Kozel and Victoria Scalisi.

Of all the many people who have contributed to my film-making efforts over the years, nobody has contributed more than Keith. Keith has worked hard both in front of the camera and behind the scenes, always suffering, never complaining, to help me (and many others) put our cinematic dreams in motion. Keith was also the frontman for the legendary rockband GAM and several other bands.

I’ve known Victoria since she was in high school. Victoria was the vocalist for DAMAD, one of the best and most brutal HardCore Metal/Punk bands I’ve ever seen. At the 1997 DragonCon in Atlanta, Victoria shared a table with me, Travis Pitts, and Michael Kienzle where we peddled our wares to an uncaring crowd of sci-fi nerds. (Actually Victoria had the best sales of any of us.)

This is the first time I have seen either of them since leaving Savannah in 2003, and I’m not really seeing them - I’m just watching them on a computer monitor - but it’s nice to see them just the same.
